Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Milan, Italy

Milan, Italy

To be honest I did not give this city a lot of thought when we booked our trip. We took a train from Venice to Milan because we were going to Spain next so we needed a way to get there. The train ride from Venice was so pretty and a great way to see Italy!

Milan is the third largest city in Italy and one of the fashion capitals of the world. It is also very romantic! Cobble streets, restaurants in alleyways, parks throughout! The city is very large though so you somewhat need to know where you’re going, but google maps or whatever map app on your phone will help.

It is so easy to stumble upon castles and gothic architecture.

One of the major landmarks of Milano is the Milan cathedral aka the Duomo. It’s in the center of the city & the most recognizable landmark in the Lombardy region. It’s the largest church in Italy and so beautiful!! The whole street grid is built in a circle around the square where the Duomo is.

I think the best part of the Duomo is the views from the very top. We chose to take the elevator because it was SUPER hot out and we spent the whole day walking the city. No excuses but just know the elevator is an option. You’ll want to go to one of the shops nearby to purchase an elevator pass and make sure to have a credit card so you can skip the line.

After you spend time on the roof, you should spend time in the square! After our climb, we sat at a cafe with a Peroni and just watched the buzzing square. So much to see!!

At night, we grabbed gelato from Cioccolati Italiani and it was one of our favorite gelato stops of the trip. Because you know… we had to try multiple gelato stands…

Now let’s talk food!! I had my favorite piece of pizza in Milan… the crust was so light but crunchy and the toppings were so fresh. We actually stumbled upon this place while walking to something touristy but if I am being honest… we were actually coming from ANOTHER pizza shop and couldn’t pass this up. The pizza shop is il Forno Pizza and I dream of it everyday…

It is so simple but so flavorful
